Lexus - Milan Design Week 2025
SonaGraf collaborated with BASCULE INC. to produce interactive “Earthspective” CG work to Lexus A-UN installation in Milano Superstudio using Unreal Engine.
“Discover Together” section of the installation was a collection of interactive works by creators from Bascule Inc., Northeastern University and Lexus’ in-house design team. The works revolved around the touch sensitive Black Butterfly-shaped device that has vast capabilities.
Our team at SonaGraf were in charge of the vast, interactive vision of earth that was rendered in real-time to a massive 4K projector screen. Visitors of the exhibition were able to launch rockets from custom locations in the earth using the Black Butterfly device, and the user’s voice was recorded in the satellites that orbited the earth.
Fully interactive, photo-realistic digital twin of earth our team created in Unreal Engine.
Unreal Engine 5 proved itself to be extraordinarily useful and flexible tool with the challenge of displaying high-end content with several massive 16K textures of the earth, while running the blueprint code created by our programmers. Through WebSocket integration, we extended Unreal’s capabilities by connecting it to external tools and live data sources, allowing real-time control, dynamic updates, and seamless communication between systems.
